About our organization
The Master Gardener Foundation of Benton-Franklin County is a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer organization that serves the people of Benton and Franklin Counties in Washington. The mission of the Foundation is to educate individuals in applying horticultural science to manage their landscapes and gardens in a science-based, sustainable manner. The Foundation accomplishes this through its partnership with the Washington State University Master Gardener Program, local community professionals and organizations.
Projects & Outreach
(1) Master Gardeners maintain a 2 1/2 acre Demonstration Garden with 25 individual gardens that attracts visitors from across the US and internationally. The garden also has the only rose test facility in Washington state. Donates over 6,000 lbs of fresh produce to food banks every year. 2)Helps establish community gardens and trains gardeners in how to grow their own food. Over 4000 individuals now have a place to grow food. 3) Provides free education seminars, tours and classes on gardening. Free Plant Clinic.
